"Our goals were simple at the time, but not very focused: improve cardio and add lean muscle. He always has challenging and creative workouts and stresses working on the core body strength. Everyone becomes a better jump-roper with Glenn, including my husband and son! He also emphasized trying new things…and some new things we really like. We had to set goals – things we wouldn’t ever think possible. Mine were skiing the black diamond mogul run called Drunken Frenchman at Winter Park without stopping (top to bottom), biking up to Ward, and running the Bolder Boulder in 60 minutes. Lofty goals for me! Anyhow, with the stringent, yet doable, exercise plan, I was able to complete the skiing with only one stop. That’s still a huge accomplishment, and I am happy with that. My conditioning really made skiing this year that much more enjoyable. I was able to ski bumps and trees with more confidence and finesse. Biking – the summer is still young, but I’ve already managed to bike Lee Hill/Old Stage to Left Hand, then run the Bolder Boulder the next day. (I didn’t make my goal, but was close and shaved 8 minutes off my last time.) With everything Glenn has taught me between cardio, weights, core strength, and nutrition, I am in (maybe) the best shape of my life (since high school).
